Privacy Policy
Yezbi Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026. Updated October 31, 2026.
Yezbi LLC ("Yezbi", "we", "us") makes learning and family apps for parents and children. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. We wrote it to be read by parents, not lawyers. If anything is unclear, email privacy@yezbi.com.
The short version
- Parents are in charge. An adult creates the family account. Children never sign up or sign in on their own. They use Yezbi on a family display a parent sets up, and in browser games that keep nothing on our servers.
- We ask a parent's permission before we save anything a child does, and we check that the person giving it is the parent. We email our notice to the parent's sign-in address, the parent agrees from that email, and a day later we send a second email confirming it, with how to change their mind.
- We collect what the apps need to work, and we keep it only as long as we need it. Section 7 lists how long.
- We never sell your family's information, we show no ads of our own, and we never use your family's information to train AI.
- Some features use AI, including Ask, which reads what's typed into it. AI help is on unless you turn it off, and you can turn it off for your whole family at any time. Your children's uploads and what they do on the family display's own screens never go to AI. The one exception is Ask on the family display: it's on there unless you turn it off, and what anyone types in it, a child included, goes to our AI provider with children's names replaced.
- You can see, download, correct and delete your family's information.
- Some outside services are part of the apps, and we name them all in Section 5. The biggest is YouTube, which plays the videos we suggest.

It also covers yezbi.com, our sign-in pages (accounts.yezbi.com) and our server (api.yezbi.com). It does not cover other companies' websites, even when an app links to them or shows their content. Those companies' own policies apply.
Yezbi is for families in the United States. Adults must be 18 or older to create an account.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Your account (adults)
- Sign-in details: your email address, your name, and either a password or your Google sign-in. Our sign-in provider, Clerk, stores these. Our own systems receive your verified email address and first name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile with Clerk.
- Your profile in the family:
- your display name;
- a label such as "Mom";
- your role (owner, parent, caregiver);
- your language, time zone and theme choices.
- Your parent PIN. It unlocks parent controls on shared devices. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version, never the PIN itself.
2.2 Your family
- Family name, time zone and school-year start month.
- Optionally, your ZIP code, used for local events and field trips, and your local library's name and catalog link.
- The adults you invite: their email, name and a label such as "Grandma Jane". We send them an invitation email.
- Your AI help choice (on unless you turn it off; Section 4).
- A record of your consent: who gave it, when, how it was confirmed (by email: when we sent the notice, when you agreed from it and when we sent the confirming email), which version of our notice you saw and your AI help choice. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) form of the link we emailed you.
- Your agreement to our Terms: which versions of the Terms of Service and this policy you agreed to at sign-up, and when.
- Your plan: your free month and, once paid plans start, your subscription's status.
2.3 Your children's profiles (information you type)
- Required: a display name and birth year.
- Optional:
- birth month and day;
- sex and pronouns;
- interests and strengths;
- learning notes;
- grade band;
- calendar color.
- Content preferences for each child:
- interest and celebration tags;
- a religious-content preference (from secular to devotional);
- a cultural-content preference (from progressive to conservative);
- your own notes.
We use these only to filter what Kids Videos and Movie Night show that child.
- A picture for each family member, if you choose one: an emoji, or a photo you upload. A child's photo is kept in your family's private storage with location and camera details removed. Only your family sees it, on your screens and your family display, and it never goes to AI.
We do not ask for children's addresses, phone numbers or school names. Please don't put health or diagnosis details in free-text fields unless you need them there. They are optional.
2.4 What your children's own activity creates
Once you give permission, when a child uses your family display, we record what they do there: which chores and lessons they mark done and when, the stars they earn, the rewards they ask for, and when they use the display as themselves. Section 6 describes this in detail.
2.5 App by app
| App | What we keep | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Homeschool | Plans, schedules, curriculum lists, attendance, activities with notes, minutes and a mood emoji, grades, reading logs, checklist work (done marks, notes, time spent, photos or PDFs of work), saved portfolios, uploaded files (curriculum pages, worksheets, "scrapbook" photos) with captions and child tags, field-trip places, saved local events, in-app reminders and weekly recaps. We remove location and camera details from photos before we store them; PDFs are stored as sent | To plan your school, keep your records and build portfolios |
| Calendar items: each item's title, times, the day it ends, its place (what you type, such as an address), notes, who it's for, and the reminders you set | Your family's calendar | |
| Chores and rewards: your chores and their settings, the rewards you offer, every star given, removed or spent, and your children's reward requests with your answers | The chores board and optional rewards | |
| Meals, recipes and lists: planned meals, recipes (title, ingredients, steps, source address, notes, favorites and times), grocery and other lists with who checked each item, and the stores you usually shop at | Meal planning and shopping | |
| Grown-ups in your family: grown-ups you add with or without an account (a name, color, picture and events), each person's role and what they may do on the family display | Showing everyone's day | |
| Recent changes: what was changed or deleted and by whom, so you can undo it. Kept 14 days | Undo | |
| Alerts on your devices, if you turn them on: the address your browser's push service gives that device, and the keys that encrypt each alert so the push service can't read it. We send an alert (such as "Soccer at 3:00") at the times you set, and keep a note of each one sent for 14 days so none repeats. We delete a device's address when you turn alerts off there or the push service says it's gone | Reminders before calendar items | |
| Plans you share with families you know, if you both turn it on: which local events you've planned or saved and when you plan to go (Section 5.3) | Planning outings together | |
| Activities you track for your children: each activity's name and type, the provider and its website, which children take part, its status (interested, signed up, enrolled), sign-up and season dates, meeting days and times, place, cost, your notes and your reminder choices | Sign-up reminders and adding seasons to your calendar. Private to your family: we never send it to activity providers, Google or AI. If you add a season to your calendar, it shows there under the activity's name, like any other event | |
| Outside calendars you connect: the private feed address (stored encrypted) and copies of those events' titles, descriptions and locations | To show your outside commitments on the plan | |
| Calendar share links you create: a private web address that shows a child's schedule to any calendar app holding the link | So you can subscribe from another calendar | |
| Device location: not collected. No Yezbi page asks your device or your child's for its location. Sunrise, sunset and weather come from your family's ZIP code through our server (Section 5.2) | Day and night shading and weather | |
| Voice typing: your browser turns speech into text. We receive only the text, never audio | Hands-free notes | |
| The family display | A tablet or screen you pair with your family to show the day, meals, lists and chores: its label, settings and when it was last used, and a scrambled (hashed) form of its key. Each person's display PIN, scrambled the same way. When someone uses the display as themselves, or Ask runs there, a short session that ends after a few minutes untouched | Your family's day on a shared screen at home. It shows titles, times, chores and meals, never notes or links |
| Bookshelf | Your family's books (title, author, ISBN, notes), reading activity and each child's reading log | Your family library |
| Shelf and cover photos you choose to scan: while AI help is on, we send them to our AI provider to find the books, with location and camera details removed first, then keep only a fingerprint (hash) of the photo and the result, for 30 days. We do not store the photos | Adding books quickly | |
| An adult's own personal library (books, where copies are, loans with the borrower's name), kept separately from the family | Your own lending library | |
| Kids Videos | Your rules (daily minutes, quiet hours, blocked videos and channels) and problem reports. What children did on Kids Videos' children's screens before we retired them on October 29, 2026: viewing (video, title, channel, time watched, finished or not), progress, daily totals, requests they typed and the "watch next" list, kept until the times in Section 6.10 | Showing you what was watched. Children's screens no longer open, and the videos we suggest open on YouTube |
| Placement | Nothing on our servers. The learner's nickname, grade, answers, writing samples and your notes stay in your browser. You can export them or press Erase | A starting-point suggestion for curriculum |
| Movie Night | Watchlist, watched titles with your 1–5 rating, titles you dismissed and why, saved filters and services, and which titles we showed you and when | Recommendations and fresher suggestions |
| Children you select while browsing (stored with your family's profiles) | Filtering titles for that child | |
| Your Roku's address on your home network, kept only in your browser | Sending a title to your TV | |
| HistoMap, Time Travelers, Tree of Life, National Parks | Progress and settings, kept only in your browser. Time Travelers can store a child's first name. National Parks stores an age band, an explorer choice and in-game screenshots. You can export or reset them | Saving progress without an account |
| HistoMap feedback you send: your message, the page address, your screen size and your browser type | Fixing problems |
2.5a Organizers who list events
If you list your organization's events with Yezbi, we collect its name, website, calendar link, town or address and who the events are for, plus a contact name, email and any notes. We use the contact details only for questions about your listing. We never show them to families or add them to mailing lists. We record that you confirmed you represent the organization and gave permission, with the date and the wording you agreed to. To prevent abuse, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address for two days. Organizer contact details are erased 12 months after a listing is rejected or withdrawn. You can withdraw a listing at any time with the private link shown after you submit it, or by emailing support@yezbi.com.
2.6 Information collected automatically
- Internet (IP) address and browser type.
- Our hosting provider sees these with every request. We use IP addresses briefly to stop abuse (rate limits) and do not store them in our database.
- Some account actions record the IP address and browser type in your family's activity log, for security. We clear them after 90 days.
- Our hosting logs keep basic request records for 7 days.
- Feature use. We count which Homeschool features each adult uses and when, so we can see what helps. We count actions such as "saved a repeating event", never what you wrote. These counts are in your data export.
- How parents use the apps. We count which screens and features parents use, and where they stop before finishing something, so we can fix what's hard. We never count what you type, and never anything in kid view or on the family display. Each visit gets a random ID, and your family's ID is scrambled, so these counts don't name your account. They stay with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, for about 90 days.
- Browser storage. The apps save settings, progress and sign-in state in your browser (local storage and similar). Section 11 explains this.
- No advertising or third-party analytics. We use no advertising cookies, tracking pixels or outside analytics services.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- run the apps you use and show your family's information to your family;
- show your children what's theirs on your family display, the way you set it up;
- sign you in and protect accounts, devices and our service;
- send the emails you trigger, such as invitations and the notice and confirmation of your permission, and answer your messages;
- send the alerts you turn on;
- fix problems and improve the apps, using counts rather than your content;
- meet legal obligations and keep records that prove we did, such as consent and deletion receipts.
We do not use your family's information for advertising, sell it, rent it, or use it to train AI.
4. AI help
Some Yezbi features use artificial intelligence (AI) to draft or suggest things for you.
Which features use AI
- Homeschool: suggesting books for a weekly theme, reading a curriculum's table of contents from a photo, matching a workshop theme you type to a topic and drafting its guide, and Ask, which reads what a grown-up types and turns it into an event, a list item or an answer (below).
- Bookshelf: finding books in shelf or cover photos, suggesting book details, and finding a book's catalog title so we can show its cover.
- Local events: reading public organizer web pages and estimating suitable ages for public events. These use public information only, not your family's.
- Kids Videos: catalog ratings may have been drafted with AI help before review. They come from video information, not from your family.
- Activities, chores, meals and the family display's own screens never use AI. Ask on the display is the exception, below.
What we send to AI
- Your typed theme and schedule labels, with your children's names replaced by "Child 1", "Child 2".
- For theme book picks, each child's age range (such as 6–8) and up to eight short interest words, with no names. We don't send strengths, or health or learning words from interests.
- The photos you choose to scan (books or curriculum pages), with location and camera details removed first.
- Book titles, authors and ISBNs.
- What you type in Ask (below).
What we never send to AI
- Names, learning notes, strengths, sex or pronouns, religious or cultural preferences, grades, birth dates.
- Anything your children do on the family display (done marks, stars, rewards), and children's uploads. The one exception is what someone, child or grown-up, types in Ask on the family display (below).
- Family members' pictures.
- Anything about your Activities.
Ask
- What it sends. Ask uses our AI provider, named in Section 5.1. When AI help is on, we send what you type in Ask to that provider, with your conversation with Ask so far (up to its last 50 messages) and the dates involved. Your children's names are replaced by "Child 1", "Child 2". Requests Ask never handles, such as your PIN, your account or sharing, aren't sent. Our AI provider doesn't train on it and deletes it within 30 days.
- Ask on the family display. On a family display, Ask is on without a PIN unless a parent turns it off for that display. It works as the parent who set up the display, so whoever is at the display can use it, and what they type goes to our AI provider as above. If your children use the display, you can turn Ask off there in the display's settings, or leave it on and let them ask for help as you would at your own screen.
Who runs the AI
- Ask runs on our AI provider (Section 5.1).
- Everything else runs on Cloudflare Workers AI, part of our hosting provider Cloudflare. The model, GLM-5.3 Flash, was published by Z.ai (Zhipu AI) under an open license. Cloudflare runs it on its own network; the model's maker receives nothing.
- Cloudflare uses computing partners CoreWeave (United States) and Nebius (England) to run AI models.
- Cloudflare's terms say it does not use our AI requests or results to train AI.
How long we keep AI requests
- We keep our own copy of each AI request and answer for 30 days, to fix problems and check quality.
- We keep a record that a request happened (feature, time, size, cost, no content) for 13 months.
- Cloudflare does not publish how long it holds requests while processing them.
AI can be wrong. Treat every AI suggestion as a draft, and check it before you use it with your children. AI never makes decisions about your children: it does not grade, place or approve content for them.
AI help is on unless you turn it off. We explain what it sends when you set up your family, and in the permission email and page, where you can uncheck it. The family owner can switch AI help off at any time in Family settings. When it's off, nothing your family types or uploads goes to AI, and every feature still works the manual way.
5. Who receives information
5.1 Companies that work for us (service providers)
These companies process information only to provide their service to us, under contracts or published terms that limit their use of it.
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosts every Yezbi app; stores our databases and uploaded files; filters abusive traffic; keeps short-term logs; sends our emails (from mail.yezbi.com) | Everything stored on our servers, and visitors' IP addresses |
| Cloudflare Workers AI (with Cloudflare's computing partners CoreWeave, Inc. and Nebius B.V.) | Runs our AI features other than Ask (Section 4) | The AI inputs listed in Section 4, only when AI help is on |
| Anthropic, PBC, our AI provider | Reads what you type in Ask (Claude Haiku 5.5; Section 4) | The typed request and the conversation with Ask so far (up to its last 50 messages), with children's names replaced, and the dates involved, only when AI help is on |
| Clerk, Inc. | Adult sign-in and sessions | Adults' email, name, password or Google sign-in, and session details. No children's information |
| Google LLC (Google Workspace) | Our email inboxes (support@ and privacy@yezbi.com) | Whatever you put in emails you send us |
| Your browser's push service (Google for Chrome and Android, Apple for Safari and iPhone, Mozilla for Firefox, Microsoft for Edge) | Delivers the alerts you turn on to your device | Each alert, encrypted so the push service can't read it, the device address it gave your browser, and when it was sent. No children's information beyond what an alert's title says, such as an event you named after a child |
| Stripe, Inc. (when paid plans start) | Subscription payments | Your name, email and payment card, which you type on Stripe's own page. We never see or store your full card number; we keep Stripe's reference numbers for your subscription. No information about your children |
5.2 Other services the apps connect to
Some features work by contacting another company's service. Some requests come from our server, which sends no information about who you are. Others come from your browser, which, like any website visit, shares your device's IP address and browser details.
| Service | Used for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube (Google LLC) | Videos we suggest, which open on YouTube; playing videos in HistoMap and Kids Videos' library; trailers in Movie Night; video pictures (thumbnails); checking whether YouTube marks a video "made for kids" | From your device: IP address, browser details and any cookies or similar identifiers YouTube uses, under YouTube's terms. From our server: a movie's title to find its trailer, and a video's ID to check its "made for kids" status. See Section 12 |
| Open Library (Internet Archive) | Book details and covers | From our server: titles, authors, ISBNs and theme words. From your browser: cover image requests |
| Google Places (Google LLC) | Field-trip ideas | From our server: a place type and your ZIP code, such as "museum near 72701". No name or account |
| Google Calendar API (Google LLC) | Public event calendars for Local events | From our server: public calendar IDs only. No family information |
| Zippopotam.us | Turning a ZIP code into a town and map point, for local events, field trips, the children's day clock and the weather in Plan | From our server: the ZIP code only |
| U.S. Census Bureau geocoder | Mapping public event venues | From our server: public venue addresses only |
| US National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) | Weather for the children's day clock and the week's forecast in Plan | From our server only: the center of your ZIP code's area, rounded to about 11 km, and Yezbi's app name. Never your ZIP code, IP address, family, child or device. No page in your browser or your child's contacts it, and our server works out sunrise and sunset itself |
| Streaming Availability API (Movie of the Night) | Movie Night's catalog | From our server: catalog requests, and your search words when a title isn't in our catalog. No account information |
| Wikidata (Wikimedia Foundation) | Film ratings and critic scores | From our server: film IDs only |
| Trakt and Simkl | Members' ratings shown in Movie Night | From our server: film IDs only. Your browser contacts them only if you follow a rating link |
| Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons | Articles and pictures in HistoMap, Time Travelers and Tree of Life | From your browser: IP address and browser details. |
| Your browser's speech service | Voice typing | Your browser's maker may process your voice under its own policy. We receive only text |
| Your calendar provider | Outside calendars you connect | Our server fetches the private feed you gave us |
| Your Roku | Sending a title to your TV | Your browser talks to your Roku on your home network |
We chose these services for what they do, not to share your information. They are independent companies, and their own privacy policies apply.
5.3 People you choose to share with
- Adults in your family whom you invite see the family's information that their role allows.
- Anyone at your family display sees what it shows: your family's day (titles and times), chores, meals, lists and the pictures you chose. Notes and links stay off it.
- Other families you connect with for co-op planning see your family name and how many of your family are coming, not your children's names.
- Plans you share with families you know. If you and a family you're connected with both turn on "Share plans with families you know" (it starts off), each of you sees which local events the other has planned or saved, and the dates and times you plan to go. Your children's names are never shared. Turning it off, or disconnecting, hides your plans at once.
- Calendar share links. Anyone who has the link can see that child's schedule: block titles and details from 30 days ago to 180 days ahead, and the child's first name. Links expire 12 months after you create them. You can turn a link off at any time.
5.4 Legal and safety reasons
We may share information if the law requires it (for example, a valid court order), to protect a child or anyone else from harm, or to protect Yezbi and our users from fraud or attack. Where the law allows, we will tell you first.
5.5 If Yezbi changes hands
If Yezbi is sold or merged, your information may move to the new owner. It stays covered by this policy unless you agree otherwise. Children's information will not be used in a new way without a parent's permission.
5.6 What we never do
- We never sell or rent personal information.
- We never share it for targeted advertising.
- We never let companies use it to train AI.
- We never make children's information public.
6. Children's privacy (notice to parents)
This section is our notice to parents under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Arkansas Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act.
6.1 Who to contact
Yezbi LLC is the only company that collects or keeps children's personal information through Yezbi.
- Address: P.O. Box 71, West Fork, AR 72774
- Phone: 302-469-3924
- Email: privacy@yezbi.com
6.2 Which parts of Yezbi are for children
Children use Yezbi only through:
- the family display: a tablet or screen in your home that a parent pairs with the family. Children see their day there, check off their chores and lessons, earn stars and ask for rewards, and can use the display as themselves;
- the browser games (Time Travelers, National Parks, Tree of Life) and HistoMap's kids mode, which keep progress in the browser only;
- Placement, with a parent.
Children do not get their own accounts or sign-ins. On October 29, 2026 we retired the children's screens that worked on a device a parent turned on for one child (Kids Videos' children's screens and Homeschool's student checklist); videos we suggest now open on YouTube. Children cannot post anything publicly, and Yezbi has no chat, comments or messaging between users.
6.3 Your permission comes first
Until a parent gives permission, the family display still shows your family's day, but nothing your children do on it is saved. Your own parent tools work either way. To give permission, a parent:
- asks for it in Yezbi Homeschool → Family settings → Parental permission;
- receives our notice by email, at the address they sign in with. The link in it works for 7 days;
- opens the link, reads the notice again, confirms that they are the children's parent or legal guardian, chooses whether AI help stays on (Section 4), and selects I agree;
- receives a second email about a day later, confirming the permission and explaining how to withdraw it.
This is the "email plus" method the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule allows when an operator doesn't disclose children's information (16 CFR 312.5(b)(2)(viii)). We don't disclose it: no one outside Yezbi receives what your children do, apart from our hosting provider (Section 6.5) and, if a child types in Ask on the family display, our AI provider, which works only for us, doesn't train on it and deletes it within 30 days (Section 4).
We keep a record of your permission (Section 2.2). If you don't give permission, we save nothing your children do, and an unused request is deleted 30 days after its link expires.
If we make an important change to how we handle children's information, we'll email you the new notice and ask for your permission again before the change applies to your child.
6.4 What we collect from children, and why
| Where | What is collected | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The family display | Which chores and lessons a child marks done, and when | To show your family's day and keep your children's school records |
| Stars a child earns, and the rewards they ask for | So you can see their stars and approve rewards (rewards are off until you turn them on for a child) | |
| When a child uses the display as themselves, with their display PIN, if you give them one | To show them their own day, and to limit what they can change | |
| The display's key (stored scrambled), its IP address and technical details | To keep the display signed in to your family and protect the service (Section 6.7) | |
| Games (Time Travelers, Tree of Life, National Parks, HistoMap) | Nothing on our servers. Progress stays in the browser | — |
| HistoMap kids mode | Nothing. Feedback is turned off in kids mode | — |
| Before October 29, 2026 | What children did on Kids Videos' and Homeschool's children's screens (viewing, requests, checklist notes, minutes and work photos) | Kept for you until the times in Section 6.10, or until you delete it |
Ask on the family display is a grown-up's tool: it works as the parent who set up the display, and it's on there unless a parent turns it off. If a child types in it there, what they type goes to our AI provider like a grown-up's words, with names replaced (Section 4). Otherwise children can't send messages, post, upload or use voice on Yezbi.
We collect only what the activity needs. We never require a child to give more information to play, watch or take part.
Information you type about your children (Section 2.3), such as their names, birth years, plans, chores and pictures, is not collected from your child, but we protect it the same way.
6.5 Who receives children's information
- Cloudflare (hosting, storage, logs), as our service provider. This is necessary to run the service.
- No one else. Our AI provider and Cloudflare Workers AI never receive your children's done marks, stars or rewards. The one exception is anything typed in Ask on the family display (Section 4). Calendar share links, and the push alerts you turn on, carry only what you entered, never what your children did.
- People you choose (Section 5.3): anyone at your family display, other adults you invite, and anyone holding a calendar share link you create. These are optional.
We never sell your children's information, use it for advertising, or let anyone use it to train AI.
6.6 Can children make information public?
No. Children cannot post, chat or share anything that others can see. Only a parent can create a calendar share link, and it can be turned off.
6.7 Device identifiers used only to run the service
We use a family display's key and IP address only to:
- keep the display signed in to your family;
- protect the service against abuse;
- keep it working.
We do not use them to contact your child, to build a profile of your child for any other purpose, or for advertising. We keep IP addresses out of our database (Section 2.6), and our hosting logs keep them for 7 days.
6.8 Your rights as a parent
You can:
- See what we have about your child: the family owner can download the family's data in Settings → Privacy & Data. Uploaded files can be downloaded one at a time. Or email us.
- Correct your child's profile at any time in the family settings.
- Stop collection from your child: turn off your family display, or withdraw your permission.
- Delete your child's information:
- by deleting the child in family settings. We purge everything within 7 days;
- by deleting your whole family in Settings → Privacy & Data, which takes effect immediately;
- or by emailing privacy@yezbi.com.
- Withdraw your permission at any time in Family settings → Parental permission, or by emailing privacy@yezbi.com. We then stop saving what your children do and at once delete what their own activity created: the stars they earned, their reward requests, their display sessions, and what they did on the earlier children's screens (viewing history and totals, the "watch next" list, requests, checklist work and work photos). Done marks stay on your plan as part of your school records, and you can clear them. The profiles you typed and your plans stay unless you delete them too. You can give permission again later.
We check that requests come from the child's parent: through the family owner's signed-in account, or, by email, by confirming details only the account owner would know. Children's information deleted from our live systems may remain in our encrypted backups for up to 35 days until they are replaced.
We will never stop providing a service because you asked us to delete information, as long as the service can still work without it.

8. Your choices and rights
- Download your data: Homeschool → Settings → Privacy & Data (family owner), Movie Night → Privacy settings, and Download personal data for an adult's own records.
- Delete:
- single items, a child or the whole family in the apps;
- your account: email privacy@yezbi.com for now. A family owner deletes the family instead;
- or email privacy@yezbi.com.
- Correct anything in the family and child settings.
- Turn off AI help (family owner) in Family settings.
- Turn off a family display, or Ask on it, at any time in its settings.
- Turn off alerts on any device in Settings, or in your browser's settings.
- Withdraw permission for your children in Family settings → Parental permission (Section 6.8).
- Manage invitations, co-op connections, shared plans and share links at any time.
- Browser-only apps: use each game's reset or export, Placement's Erase, or clear your browser's site data.
We answer requests within 30 days and tell you if we need more time. We don't charge for them. You don't need to live in a particular state to use these choices.
9. How we protect information
- Every connection is encrypted (HTTPS). Cloudflare encrypts stored data.
- Each family's information is kept separate on our server, and every request is checked against the signed-in adult's family.
- Parent PINs, display PINs and display keys are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, and calendar feed addresses are encrypted.
- A family display works only after a parent pairs it with the family, and parent controls on it need a PIN.
- Alerts are encrypted on our server for your device, so the push service that carries them can't read them.
- Our own accounts use two-step sign-in, and our passwords and keys are kept in a password manager.
- We follow a written information security program, review it every year and test our safeguards.
No online service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
10. Where information is stored
Our servers and storage are provided by Cloudflare, which stores and processes data in the United States and in other countries where its network operates. AI requests may be processed in the United States or England. Yezbi is meant for families in the United States.
12. YouTube
Yezbi Homeschool, Kids Videos, HistoMap and Movie Night use YouTube API Services to show and play YouTube videos.
- By watching YouTube videos in Yezbi, you agree to YouTube's Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms.
- Google's Privacy Policy explains how YouTube handles information: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
- YouTube's player can collect information from the device when it loads and when a video plays, including the device's IP address and browser details, and it may place or read cookies or similar identifiers. YouTube may show ads, which Yezbi does not control.
- Where a video plays inside Yezbi, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced (no-cookie) player, including Movie Night trailers, and Kids Videos loads YouTube's player script from that same privacy-enhanced address.
- Videos we suggest in Homeschool open on youtube.com, where YouTube's own player, terms and your YouTube settings apply. Movie Night's "Search YouTube for a trailer" button opens youtube.com in a new tab, at an adult's choice.
- For Kids Videos, we use YouTube's API to look up whether YouTube marks a video "made for kids", sending only the video's ID, and we refresh or delete each answer within 30 days.
- Yezbi does not sign in to YouTube on your behalf and does not access your YouTube account. You can review apps connected to your Google account at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
- To delete the information Yezbi keeps about your family's viewing, use the deletion choices in Section 8. Deleting it from Yezbi does not change anything YouTube keeps. To manage that, use YouTube's or Google's own settings.
13. Changes to this policy
- We'll post any change here with a new date.
- For an important change, we'll tell the family owner by email and in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect.
- If a change affects how we collect, use or share children's information, we'll email you the new notice and ask for your permission again before the change applies to your child.
